December 2018!
Snap! And the year has gone. It only feels like yesterday that I wrote my last blog back in July. Now, here we are months later with less than 3 weeks until Christmas. Where has the time gone?
It has been a busy few months with work, family and trying to fit writing into the mix as well, but unfortunately not as much as I would like. As a family we went on a driving holiday down the east coast of New South Wales. We took our boys to Sydney and did all the usual touristy things while we were there. The boys really seemed to enjoy it and it was nice going back (after nearly 20 years) and seeing it through their eyes.
From Sydney we travelled to Merimbula, on the NSW south coast, where we enjoyed a few relaxing days. We did days trips to Narooma (where I used to holiday when I was a child) and Eden, where we spent time at the Whale Museum before going whale watching. Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favour, but we still had a nice time.
From Merimbula we crossed over the Victorian border (because we could), before driving inland to Canberra, where we spent time with my family. We had a few nice days with family as well as visiting some of the tourist sites, including the National Zoo, which has recently undergone a revamp. My youngest son was very excited, as he got to see his favourite animal, the rhino. If you are ever in Canberra, do yourself a favour and visit the zoo. It is amazing! From Canberra it was then a two-day drive home via the New England Highway and back to reality.
In early November I attended the Brisbane Supanova Expo. This was my first time at the Brisbane event and I must admit, I was a little overwhelmed. I was there this year with ‘Author’s Emporium’. I was in good company with some great authors, offering a wide range of books including; Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Fiction, Paranormal Romance, Fantasy Romance, Historical Adventure and Science Fiction. It was a lot of fun joining the other authors, catching up with friends and meeting some of the authors for the first time. For me, the highlight of the event was meeting Wonder Woman (in Cosplay), who had what I thought was the best costume of the event.
You will all be happy to know that there is another book in the works. It is not part of the ‘Vampire Hunter Prophecy’ series, but still in the same genre of Urban Fantasy. It is very much in the early stages, but I will keep you updated with its progress as I go. I hope to have the chance to work on it over the Christmas holidays and see how it progress’s.
I can’t believe that Christmas is almost upon us. I once again feel unorganised. Are you all organised? So, on that note, I better go and get a few things done. Until next year, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Best Wishes
M. G.
