Blink and You’ll Miss It!

Can someone please tell me where the year has gone! I must have blinked and missed it. I can’t believe that it is June already. I know that I have been quiet this year and much to my own disappointment, I haven’t been writing as my everyday life has kept me busy.

I did however have the opportunity to attend this year’s Supanova on the Gold Coast, back in April. This year I was fortunate enough to join fellow authors Sam Colbran and Clive Johnson, under the banner of ‘Author’s Emporium’. It was a massive two days, in which I once again had the opportunity to meet and chat with some interesting people and saw some amazing costumes.

A stand out for me this year was ‘Thor’ (Thor of Oz), who thought my book was marvel-ous 😊. The biggest highlight though was the opportunity to meet some of the cast and crew of the upcoming Australian movie ‘Occupation’, who were attending Supanova to promote the movie. They were a great bunch of people, with an even better sense of humour. They were good sports for putting up with me taking photos of them all day. It looks like a fantastic movie, which I am looking forward to seeing when it is released in July. If you get the chance, check it out and support Australian movies.

I am excited at the prospect of more authors joining us under the ‘Author’s Emporium’ banner, so we are working towards Supanova Brisbane, which will be held on the 9-11 November. We will have some excellent independent authors at our booth, with a range of books on offer. So, pop the dates in your calendar and I hope to see you there.

Last month I had the opportunity to hold a book signing at Book Face, Orion Shopping Centre, Springfield. Other than Supanova, it was my first book signing of the year. Thank you to the staff who were my hosts for the day. My next book signing is booked for Book Face Pacific Fair on Saturday 28th July.
